Scope

At SPRK, I was responsible for improving the usability and consistency of the platform. My work included designing core features, establishing a design system, and ensuring accessibility standards were met. The goal was to make it easier for students and professionals to turn their source material into structured, interactive study tools.

Process

I started by digging into the existing product to understand where users were getting stuck. The biggest pain points centered on clarity: too many steps felt confusing, and it wasn't always clear what to do next.

From there, I sketched out simpler flows and wireframes, focusing on making the core journey feel natural and easy to follow. Once the structure felt right, I built high-fidelity prototypes in Figma so the team could click through the experience and give feedback early.

To keep things consistent across features, I also created a shared design system with reusable components, colors, and typography. This made the product feel more cohesive and gave developers a faster, cleaner handoff.

Throughout the process, I worked closely with the team, sharing updates, testing ideas, and iterating until we landed on solutions that felt both intuitive for users and practical to build.

Solution

The result was a set of core systems that made the app cohesive, user-friendly, and scalable. Users could move through the product with less friction, while the design system allowed the team to build new features faster and with more consistency.

Impact

SPRK now has a strong product foundation, both in terms of usability and design infrastructure, setting the stage for growth and continuous improvement.
